Welcome to IVSA Germany!
We are happy that you are interested to know more about us and hope that you will get a good impression of our member organization (MO).
Germany is a beautiful country in the middle of Europe and shares borders with nine different countries. In the North there are the coast of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea whereas in the South there are the famous German alps. Germany itself with its capital Berlin has a lot to offer, many beautiful and famous cities and a lot of nature, lakes and forests.
There are five veterinary faculties in Germany that are all official MOs of IVSA. From North to South:
If you’d like to know more about their IVSA chapters and even get in touch with them, feel free to visit their webpages shown in the menu.
Every faculty has its own specialties which makes veterinary medicine in Germany more diverse and interesting! If you already know Germany or you are even a citizen of our country and wonder what IVSA is, let’s give you a short overview:
IVSA, the “International Veterinary Student ́s Association”, is a global network of students with the ambition “to benefit the animals and people of the world by harnessing the potential and dedication of veterinary students to promote the international application of veterinary skills, education and knowledge”. If you’d like to know more about the IVSA in general, please visit their website or have a look at their and the standing committees’ webpage in the web menu.
The IVSA Germany is representing all five MOs in the IVSA Global. We have an executive committee of four, two presidents, one exchange officer and one social media manager. All of them are supported through active members of IVSA Germany and the national veterinary student’s association, the „BVVD“. IVSA Germany organizes two assemblies per year for all members and plans national exchanges with other MOs. For students from other IVSA MOs we give support to find internship/externship placements and provide help to get in touch with the right institutions.
Do not hesitate to contact via e-mail or Facebook. If you have any questions, we are happy to help out and establish new contacts.
