We are the chapter of IVSA Giessen at the Justus-Liebig-University. The city of Giessen has about 88.000 inhabitants and has all the merits of a proper city and yet within minutes you can get out into the countryside. Various natural areas want to be explored, as do several cities close to our own. For example Frankfurt am Main, one of the most signifying urban cities in Germany, is less than an hour train ride away.

Furthermore, with approximately 39.000 students (attending different universities) Giessen has the highest density of students in all of Germany! Needless to say: Student life and social life are very rich in general. Apart from that, whether you are into museums, theatre, music or architecture, Giessen and its surrounding areas have a lot to offer.

So has our university. The faculty of veterinary medicine comprises nine institutes and one clinical center. With a total number of about 1600 students the Justus-Liebig-University is the third largest of the five existing universities of veterinary medicine in Germany.
